Capitalism through media
The weekend that was.
It was a great weekend. Got to watch The Simpsons Movie with friends and got my money’s worth of laughs and endless giggles. Also watched Ratatouille with my siblings. It was a great movie, I loved the vivid colors of the restaurant and that cute rat hovering over a boiling brew of soup. I wanted to cry in the scene where the food critic, Anton Ego, remembered his early childhood after having his first taste of Remy’s (the rat) ratatouille. I also finished playing Oswald’s chapter in Odin’s Sphere and currently playing as the red vixen, Velvet.
It’s kind of weird when you think that most of your happiness and enjoyment comes from media and how your life is centered around it. Movies, books, theatre, TV; It seems that you attach your emotions vicariously to these medium and not really experience these emotions first-hand. Its like feeling emotions through the emotions portrayed in these medium. Is media’s true aim is to churn out feelings for us and paying them with a portion of my month’s salary? Haayyy…
