Jasmine coughed and fell back onto her pillows, her head aching from pain. She'd fallen sick with a nasty flu that had been going around and she had spent the better part of a week locked up in her room, burning eucalyptus leaves in an attempt to clear her nose and her head. So, far no luck. She was still stuffy, achy and none of the medicines she was taking were working very well.
Just as Jasmine thought she was going to die from the flu, her bedroom door burst open and in came Tetsu holding several bags from various drugstores.
"Jasmine-ko!" Tetsu announced cheerfully. "I come bearing medicines!"
"Not so loud." Jasmine half moaned. Her ears perked up a little at the promise of medicine. "So, that's what you've been doing today. Looking for medicine."
"Anything to make you feel better, Jasmine." Tetsu's expression was warm and caring as he plopped down on the edge of the bed and started rummaging through the bags. "Let me see, I have herbal medicines, tea, cough syrup, decongestant, sleep aids, Vick's Vapo-rub...."
A bottle fell out of one back and Jasmine sat up to pick it up. It was labeled "Wada Calcium CD3".
"Tetsu?" Jasmine said. "Why did you get a calcium supplement?"
"Oh." Tetsu turned pink. "Well, I noticed that you haven't been eating much or been out in the sunshine, so I thought it would help."
Jasmine smiled. "Thank you, Tetsu. You're very sweet. It was nice of you to go out and get all this stuff just for me.
Her head spun then and Jasmine, sneezing, feel back in bed, the room spinning. Tetsu smiled and planted a soft kiss on her warm forehead. "Sleep well, Jasmine-ko." he murmured, giving her gloved hand a soft sqeeuze before placing the medicines on her night table and turning out the light.
