Okay this is just my opinion and I don’t know how many people will read it but who else feels like Russell is getting back at us about our love for Ianto.

·         We have been left without much back story to the character and with the tit bit we had not fully explain

Well to me it seems like S3 was a five hour pilot for a series called 'Gwen Cooper - Torchwood'.

Seriously, anybody who had never seen Torchwood before would have come away feeling that Gwen was the lead character.
Gwen is the first team member we see. Gwen is the first (TW) person to notice that the kids have stopped. Gwen is the one who starts the investigation. Gwen is the one who greets Rupesh and says "I'm Torchwood". Gwen is the one who goes to find out about Clem. Gwen is the one whose POV we get when the Hub is blown up. Gwen is the one who makes contact with the Government. Gwen is the one who gets into the base where Jack is held (and she got it all handed to her on a plate). Gwen is the one who gets them all stealing to set up their new base. Gwen is the one who convinces Lois to help them. Gwen is the one who sits back and convinces evil assassin woman to stay on their side. Gwen is the one who leads the 'save the children' run on the council estate. And at the end of the day, Gwen is only one left standing on Earth.
(please note, i'm not bashing Gwen, just the writers and TPTB)

Jack on the other hand, gets to be used as a trojan horse to destroy his home. He gets to did and come back horribly and barely five minutes of screen time in ep 2. He wanders off and threatens Frobisher only to have his bluff called. He takes Ianto with him to threaten the alien, only to have his bluff called again, and Ianto killed. He spends half of the final episode locked up, and is let out in time to figure out a solution in like five minutes, and then has to sacrifice his grandson. Then he (apparently) spends six months travelling and finally hitches a ride off planet.

Now, which of those two would you think was supposed to be the lead? (don't even get me started on the criminal underutilization of Ianto/GDL and his completely unnecessary death.

yeah thats ture, she did seam like the main charater she is also the only charater to come out of this unsaved. yes she lost a friend in ianto but Ianto died and Jack had to kill his grandson.

i know this sounds horrid but would we have less anti gwen if she has misscarded or soemting?

I haven't see season 3, only bits on youtube (before it gets removed for blablabla...) and all I can read on TW comms. I hate what they did to Ianto. Not only killing him but in such unnecessary way! It's plain stupid, in a plot line view! As you say, it seems Torchwood will be Gwen Cooper Show.
Damn!
I'm starting to get tired of given up fandoms I love! But it seems that is what will happen. I want Jack and Ianto. I want Jack, Ianto, Tosh and Owen.
