An elderly gentleman who is writing a book on the history of commercial fishing in the Los Angeles area often calls me with questions about sardines. I guess he's the scion of a prominent local family; a major street in San Pedro is named after his father. If all has gone well, my two oldest should be at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, ogling all the pretties at the Tutankhamen exhibit.
