Well, I'm glad I didn't buy tickets for Anime Expo ahead of time. I've been pretty much out of commision since Wednesday with an ear infection. Any Fourth activities were right out as well, although John did have some friends and his mom over to BBQ. Felt bad I couldn't take the kids over to the parade, but they at least got to walk over to

Huntington Beach is 100 years old? Huh? The actual beach?

I hope you feel better soon, it sucks when you're so ill you'd rather be better and at work.

Of course the beach itself is much older - the City of Huntington Beach as an incorporated city is a century old; it was mostly farmland before that. Not very old at all compared to where you live, but a fairly significant anniversary for here in Southern California.

Thanks for the wishes; it's been a long time since I've had one of these. I forgot how painful it is.

No, no, I didn't mean that, I have no idea how old my hometown is. I just had mental images of a beach being constructed 100 years ago. I get it now, I do wonder how I managed a GCSE in Geography.

Our Hollister has a live webcam to Huntington beach on a big screen.

How odd. I know Hollister is a clothing company; I've never been to one of their stores, but I see people with the name plastered all over shirts everywhere. The strange thing is, Hollister, CA is actually a farm town, inland from Monterey in central CA. There's a mountain range between it and the ocean - maybe an hour or two to drive to the beach from there. And it's a good 400 miles north of here. I just checked out their (the company's, that is) website and yes, that is the HB pier, right at the beginning. Marketing is weird.
