Well, I found it. Strange as ever!
A few entries back I mentioned I was looking for an independent film which I finally turned up with by making a search for "+film breakfast lunch waiter dinner" on Google. Its a rather crazy film called Food, written by Jan Svankmajer in 1970, and saw my me on PBS one very late evening when the folk of the world who had sense in their heads were asleep, and a very disturbed person had taken control of the public television waves.
( We could have an entire debate upon the usefulness of Google these days in finding something of reference. It has perhaps grown a bit big for itself. )
Looking the synopsis over, it's no wonder why this film stuck in my head, the fact that it marginally was about food aside from the point.
