That's something like what Tamil sounds like. It's fun, I like this language. I'm sure I'll like it a lot more once I get there too :) This is probably the most linguistically prepared I've ever been before traveling to a place.

Tomorrow we have some orientations, there's a movie showing, there will be some hip-hop on the terrace... and it'll be THURSDAY!! I still won't have a job, but I'll probably look for one, and I'm s'posed to play a little flute with Adam who plays the piano. He's new to improvising and to jazz and I haven't been practicing my scales but it should still be fun.

I finally got to see Geoff do a little skating, and I even found him some guys to skate with :). Hopefully sometime he'll let me try a few things, but so far he hasn't seemed excited about it. I think I'm going to search for farms this weekend.

Agh. Lots of things are happening, and lots of things are not happening. I have to say, I'm getting very excited for my actual field research. My Indian academic advisor helped me come up with a great topic. I might study the use of NGO songs in politics. That would combine my interest in music and linguistics with the required political focus that I need for Bard. PERFECT!

And I might be able to make Equestrian sports be my tutorial!!! I don't know yet, but it is a possibility. I can't even imagine how wonderful that would be.

Gotta get to sleep so I can shower before class ;) See you all in August!!
