A little follow-up-type scene for
this scene that Cassandra-san wrote a couple of days ago. ^^ And it incorperates something that came up in our little conversations...
He still holding onto her, one arm around her waist and fingers on his opposite hand threaded through her hair. And she could still feel him--smell him--taste him. Never in her life had she been kissed like that; it was a heady, disorienting, intoxicating feeling, one that made her heart race and her breathing quicken. Nazoko found her own hands drifting upward to grasp the sides of his head--and he made a vaguely surprised noise when she tugged him closer to her, sighing against his lips once more.
A warm chuckle and a single murmured word. "Nazoko."
A somewhat dazed reply. "H-Hide."
Why was it so important to him that she say his name? They both knew who he was. They both--
God, he was kissing her again.
Her back was against the wall behind her, and there was no way for her to escape--not that she really wanted to anymore, though when he had first cornered her she had wanted nothing else. Besides which, his hold on her refused to waver... and now her own hold on him was just as strong, despite the borderline trembling that had overtaken her.
Finally, Hide drew back a bit, shifting his attention, but didn't move away. His lips traced along her jawline and down the curve of her neck, gently, and Nazoko's fingers tangled in the blue-black of his hair.
"Hi... Hide." She shook her head, her breathing rough, and he cast an amused eye toward her. "Yamete ne..."
"Aa." He kissed her again, this time lightly, and pulled back, releasing her.
"Gomen..."
One hand ran through his hair. "My fault."
Glazed orange eyes opened. For a long moment she couldn't seem to move. Her breathing was rough at best and her cheeks were flushed red. When she thought she could stand under her own willpower, she pushed away from the wall, brushing at her clothing self-consciously. When her gaze turned upward once more, it clashed with familiar lime green.
Where had the awkwardness gone? It seemed to have vanished the second that his lips touched to hers, and hadn't bothered to return. She didn't miss it, though. Didn't dwell on it. Instead, she shook her head again, slowly, ignoring the blush that stained her face, and stated what was on her still-whirling mind.
"I don't understand."
Hide brushed his bangs out of his eyes. "What's not to understand?"
"I don't..." she licked at her lips unconsciously, still tasting him against her, "...naze?"
Again, his response was a question in itself; "why not?"
Nazoko allowed a frustrated sigh. "Just... answer my question. Okay?"
"And if I do?"
The grin he flashed made her heart leap for a moment before settling once more. Along with the awkwardness, Hide's nervousness had disappeared as well. There was no discomfort, no tentativeness in the way he regarded her, seeming amused as well as pleased--with himself, with the day, with the way she was reacting to him.
When she frowned a bit and glanced to the side, he stepped toward her to peer down into her eyes.
"H-Hide--"
"You liked it, too. There's no use denying it."
"I--I--"
He gave a crooked smile, and leaned down to whisper to her; "go out with me again tomorrow."
Tomorrow... tomorrow...
Her thoughts raced. After a pause, she answered breathlessly and with more than a little reluctance.
"I... I can't. I've got classes, and... if I skip again, Satsu-sama really will kill me..."
"Ah. We wouldn't want that, would we?" An amused laugh, and he drew back, pretending to think.
"Hide-sa--"
The slip into her normal address for him was out of nervousness on her part, but it didn't go unnoticed. Before she could even finish the words, his mouth was against hers again, and this time she didn't even try to back away. For an endless minute, the rush of kissing him returned--and then he let her go, moving to almost touch his lips to her ear.
"My name." He reminded her in a hushed tone. "Just my name, Nazoko."
"H-hai..."
"In any case," he drew back again, and she watched him turn his eyes toward she sky. "If you've got classes during the day, you can still go out with me tomorrow night." A look that was both coaxing and questioning at the same time, as he offered; "go dancing with me."
Her head nodded, almost without her realizing it.
"Okay..."
So I can write about them actually going dancing. ^^
Nazoko: Ah... *blushing*
I wonder why Hide seems to feel the need to celebrate every time he kisses her? lol.
Drinks all around!
