So the 日本語能力試験 came and went, and it wasn't as bad as I had imagined, yet somehow it seemed worse. The kanji/vocab section was pretty easy, the listening was ridiculously simple, but ooooooh, the reading and grammar section. There was pain. SO MUCH PAIN. I've been known to sing "Astrosexy" by M-Flo and Chemistry on occasion. It's hard, but fun if you have a guy to sing with (and it usually freaks people out if you do it well). Also, "Moments" by あゆ is relatively simple, though the melody is hard sing. But when you're all drunk, it won't matter :)

んーたぶん一番若いのは１８歳ぐらい、で普通はおじいさん達は二次会に行かないけど、ときどき６０歳の人もいるさ。なかなか珍しい状態だと思う！（・ω・　）

（笑）外国人は何でも日本語で歌えば結構いいリアクションをさせるね。「あら？！まさか知ってるの？！」って漢字で。

なんかドラゴンボールもいいけど、どうしても「CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA」を歌えない（笑）早すぎるかな？
なんか８０か９０年代の大人気の歌とかがある？歌えないかもしれないけどね（笑）
まあ、３か４曲くらい歌えば声をもう出せなくなるから今持ってる歌でいいかも！

Yuzu usually has pretty simple melodies and catchy refrains that are fun for the whole family. Like さよならバス
There's always the Yatta song, which is easily found anywhere on the internet. And that Romanian "MAYA HIII" piece of crap that you can't escape lately generally elicits giggles all around. After that, my knowledge of more obscure Japanese music is at times a little too obscure for most Japanese. Not to mention it includes things such as the nearly un-sing-along-with-able band Polysics and the rather wordless music of Corneius.
Just go to a rental place and grab stuff based on the case artwork. That selection method almost always leads you to something interesting.

I have 40 gigs of jpop mp3s, including very recent stuff. I'll hook you up with anything you want...in exchange for advice on getting a job with AEON, of course. XD

For freaking out Japanese people, SMAP or Porno Graffitti seem to work the best for me!

See the strange thing is that Koreans have easy access to studying Japanese in Korea as a sort of "second language" option in schools, or so I've been told... Every two out of three Koreans I run into know Japanese very well. But there were Koreans with you at this test... hmmm. I guess it's a different charm actually doing the test in Japan^^.

I remember a while back some JLPT students here wanted to get a petition going to have the test take place in Montreal. But there were too few interested parties.. so now they still have to schlep all the way to Toronto every year if they want to get tested. Ho ho.

Oh yeah.. are you having your AEON Christmas party this weekend too ?! Friggin' early if it is... Masato is having his AEON x-mas party this weekend @_@ ! kinda early.

Supposedly it only takes most Koreans about a year of study to pass the highest JLPT level!!! :O

Our party is on the 17th because it's a combination Christmas/Welcome/Farewell party. This weekend is pretty early!!
