Ahhh!! I'm so sick of hearing about
this!!!! I swear it's on every single channel at the same time for like 4 hours a day.
Sometimes my students say/do things that completely crack my shit up. Like when a guy named Shinya forgot the "a" at the end of his name and wrote his name as "Shiny" on a questionare. Other amazing highlights:
(Practicing asking permission/requests while role playing on a plane)
Student A: Can I have a cigarette?
Student B: No! Please refrain from smoking inside the plane!
Student A: Ok, then can you please tell me what are good New York omiyage?
Student B: (Thinks for a while) Hmmm.... I think JFK Manju!!!*
As a warm up some times I play a really watered-down version of Scattegories. For my lower level classes one of the categories is always "animal". Yesterday, as I was going around checking to see if anyone needed help, I noticed one of the girls had this written on her paper in katakana:
ドンキーコング**
$@#R$W$#@!!!!! So funny.
*Manju are traditional Japanese sweets that are like tiny cakes, usually with sweat bean paste inside. The most famous of which is the
Momiji Manju from Hiroshima.
**ドンキーコング = Donkey Kong (does this count as an animal?!?)
