Teaching in New Orleans right now is very difficult. Impossible to grasp the attention of my students for more than 30 seconds...fighting and cursing is constant, only a few are interested in learning. These poor souls are not to be blamed. Administration is overwhelmed and clueless as what to do, everyday a different plan and schedule. I lack ( Read more... )

I'm so sorry to hear that. I can't even immagine what it must be like for the poor kids.

I do know of a wonderful doctor who specializes in Chiropractic and Neurology. He has been in practice locally for over 30 years (or close to that) and is actually looking to work with the schools to help kids in situations like these. He has a lot of experience dealing with kids, especially those who have ADD. His name is Dr. Bob Newsom, and he is located at 747 Veterans Blvd. 504-828-8123. He might be able to help you out.

It really does sadden me to hear things like this, and I know there's little I can do. However, I hope this reference is useful. If you decide to contact him, just let him know that Jennifer from his BNI group referrred you to him.

Good luck, and I hope the school board can come up with the funding for these necessities.

Thanks, Jen. I will pass this on to our principal. I hope our school takes advantage of Dr. Newsome's experience and expertise.
