A New Year

It’s finally a new year. You aren’t alone for this one, but you almost wish you were. Well, no. Not alone. Just not here, with her, pretending. You want to be with someone else, just like you think you always will. You want to be with him.

“Happy New Year, Remus,” Tonks says, smiling up at you. “May this year bring more cheer ( Read more... )

Oh, you are brilliant! You summed up their relationship EXACTLY as I picture it!

This is just perfect: "You want to move on. You know Sirius would want you to be happy. It’s not like he’s in the afterlife, jealous of whomever you have close to you. Or maybe he is jealous. He is Sirius, after all. He has never been a typical human being, and you don’t think the afterlife has changed that one bit. This makes you want him even more."

I've always rather felt for Tonks. Yes, she came between them, in a sense, but mostly she just meant well.

Thank you very much! That's quite a compliment.

I used to really dislike Tonks and find her annoying and I still kind of do, but I'm a little more understanding of the fact that maybe all she did was fall in love. I actually surprised myself with how not-mean I was to her throughout this thing, haha.

Thanks for reading!

No, I understand. Yes, I think that she did fall in love, but I think she also loved him enough to simply want Remus to be happy. And, honestly, were the situation the same, I think that many of us would do the same thing.

I agree with her wanting him to be happy, and I also think that she felt that she was the one who could make him happy (I personally don't think she was, but I guess it was a kind gesture on her part.). And on Remus's end I think he loved her, just not enough. Or, at least, not as much as he loved Sirius, but Tonks loved him so much that she didn't care.

Hm. Anyway, I'm repeating myself, so I'm going to stop. Haha.
