White Flag

Studying for two exams at once is death. And a third exam on Monday makes me feel like there will be no time to celebrate or relax in between, even for a minute. I'm worried that all the work I've put into these courses is going to get flushed down the shitter because I wasn't prepared to study for three exams at once. I've had the luxury of having ( Read more... )

MAB's right about the job thing. Jobs don't damn well care about your marks, and I'm sure you were already very well aware of that. But I think you're very smart about still striving to get high marks, in case you ever do want to go back to school. It also feels really, really nice to be able to throw "cum laude", "magna cum laude", or "summa cum laude" on your resume, even if it doesn't mean a hill of beans in the long run. It makes you feel like it was all worth something. Believe me, it really, really does.

Although I do somewhat disagree with the "real life experience" thing - you can't count on the fact that you may find "real life experience" relating to whatever you may go back to school for (if you pursue that option), so I think it's great that you're letting the "what if" possibility of going back to school fuel you. I know that's how I felt.

For further comforting, as far as I know, if grad school is an option, my understanding is that most schools/programs will generally take the best x marks out of y total marks. So no worries, if it's a really bad mark, they generally don't count them all!

And your angsty school posts remind me so much of mine. I'm sure I had at least one a week, and probably even one a day during exam time.

I personally say fuck the sleep and fuck the meal before the exam. There's no time for either of those - study! Haha, but everybody works differently.

Good luck? Nah, fuck luck! You sound like you're well on your way. All it takes is preparation and perspiration. And maybe some of those four-hour energy shots. An unlimited supply of those.

Anyway, I have no doubt in your abilities - your drive has really impressed me.
