For those that didn't know, I'm in Houston for work until May 5th. I was supposed to arrive yesterday, but O'hare was a mess and my flight to Houston was canceled. I wish I'd checked the status one more time before I got on the plane in Madison, because then I might have seen the cancellation and avoided spending the night in a crappy hotel right near O'hare. Got re-booked on a 2:45 flight today and when I got to Houston my bag was actually waiting for me.
I went out to get my rental car. The university prefers National, and we get free entry into their "Emerald Club," which means I'm supposed to just go out into the lot, pick a car from the "Emerald Aisle" (get it?), find the keys in it, present a credit card and license at the exit both, and drive off. Anyway, normally the Emerald Aisle is filled with mid-size Pontiacs and Chevys, but today there was a very stylish looking Volvo in the lot with a moon roof. I double checked with the attendant that *all* of the vehicles there were charged as intermediate, and he said yes. So off I drove in a rather nicer car than I usually get for the half hour drive south to the hotel.
So, I didn't bring a camera this time, since it's the third time I've been here. Most of you have seen pictures of the aircraft we fly, or can look back through my posts to June '05 to see some. If anything particularly interesting happens while I'm here, I'll be sure to post about it.
