I hate yearbook.

So, yesterday was halloween... honestly it wasn't much fun, and I dont have much to say about it, lol. It was just really cold and I wanted to go home.

Anyway, in newspaper, we didn't have a picture of the Homecoming Queen and King like we wanted, because we couldn't find Border, who had the camera during the time. So, Ana sent me down to newspaper to ask if we can get a picture. Well, now I'm kind of upset she had to send me down.

When I asked Ms. Wompler if we could have a picture, she said to her class, "Hey, you guys do we have a picture of the Homecoming King and Queen for newspaper, cuz they can't do their job?"
Well, that's a really humble way of putting it, huh?
"Give em' a bad one... I don't know, should we give them one?" At this point, I didn't really care anymore really, but then one of the students said"Yeah... because we're nice people..." ...Not. What a damn liar...

Anyway... I was offended, but I didn't say anything, I just stood there and kept my cool because I'd rather not be RUDE *cough* But now, in the defense of newspaper...

Never in a million years would you EVER see me in yearbook. GROSS. The idea of YEARBOOK just never appealed me. It just seems so stupid... The idea seems so boring. I mean, honestly... I joined newspaper to get an idea of  what journalism was while trying to AVOID yearbook... NO JOKE. I despise the idea of yearbook... horribly.
Newspaper's teacher--Ms. Sparks... she's waaay older than Ms. Wompler. Maybe she should learn some respect, because Ms. Sparks is much wiser and has much more knowledge.

And you know what? So what if we don't have as many pictures as YEARBOOK? We don't have photographers like they do(although maybe we should think about it). But hey, it's NEWSPAPER. We WRITE. It's not like yearbook writes about important issues. It's to fill the pages with as many pictures as possible and to fill in any extra space with stupid text. Newspaper's primary focus is writing. Not taking stupid pictures. Sorry if we're busy writing. I mean, honestly... what's so hard about yearbook, anyway?

Writing captions?

pfft... okay, just so you know... I didn't make this up and it's not opinion... what you're about to read is something I actualy read FROM a yearbook! It was something on the lines of...

"The hardest part of yearbook is writing the captions."

Okay, remember: That wasn't ME who said that. It was FROM a YEARBOOK... see, even they admit yearbook is worthless in trying to teach you anything. Besides taking thousands of pictures, anyway.

I joined newspaper because I want to expose important issues and to inform people. To write about IMPORTANT things. Things people might actually CARE about. Not who has the best smile or the ugliest clothes. No one cares about the page on lunch or student life. No one cares about whether there is a cheerleader page or not. People only care about if there's enough room in it for them to put their little drawings and little names all over. You think yearbook is WRITING...?!? Ha! That's a laugh.

P.S. - Yes, I know it was mean, but hey... I really really really DO hate yearbook... I think it's an AWFUL elective, and I don't give a crap if I offended anyone, really. Go suck it.
