there are few things more distracting, where voices are concerned, than when you find yourself talking to a canadian who used to have a canadian accent (as you'd expect), but who went away and lived in, say, ireland for 6-12 months and SOMEHOW managed to come back sounding (inconsistently) irish. and has kept the strange, semi-accent long after (as in: multiple years) she's returned to canada. did i come back from kiwiland sounding like a kiwi? nosir, i did not. what the heck IS it with these people? it's so AFFECTED. i mean, i could understand if you had some accent confusion for maybe a week, tops, but when you come home and try to sound like that... i just don't understand.

WEIRD.

the real thing is so much nicer.
