Happy Monday! Have a power cut.
Work has been fun today. For a while, we were deeply afraid that our computers had been fried by the first power cut. Then we spent the afternoon working between power flickers. It was almsot like being back at that company I do not name in England!
I surprised myself by actually achieving everything on my list on Saturday. OK, I'm not quite as page 200 of Leviathan Awakes but I made up for it by reading two volumes of Fables so that totally counts. There is also enough soup in the freezer for three weeks of lunches and cornbread muffins for two weeks. That's a good feeling.
I also watched Hugo, which I really enjoyed and it's another item on my Hugo nomination list to tick off.
Yesterday was surprisingly productive as well. I say suprisingly because I spent most of the day being a grouchy zombie. On Saturday I went to bed with a bit of a headache and work up at 4am with a nasty migraine. I took my pretty pink pills, propped myself up a bit (my headaches always get worse if I'm totally horizontal) and managed to doze for a few hours. Unfortunately I was on the rota for the singing group at church so I couldn't just spend the morning lazing in bed, sleeping off the migraine, as would have been sensible.
So I took more pills, went to church and was doing OK(ish) until some kids got hold of the drum-set as we were clearing up afterwards and they nearly didn't see their seventh birthdays.
It was not a good day.
Despite looking like death warmed over (according to Mum) and acting like a drugged-up zombie, I managed to get through the family and friends Skype marathon and started the process of updating The Haven. Apparently I haven't updated it since some time in 2009...
So far, I've got the non-Doctor Who fics coded and the index for that updated. I need to get the Doctor Who fics coded and that index updated and check a few things. The updates should go live later this week. I'll start work on updating the reviews after that.
In addition, I managed to finish my 4,000 word Avengers crack fic so that's now resting for a couple of days before I edit it.
I gave in at around 6.30pm last night, sat down on the sofa to read and slept for a couple of hours instead. Then I woke up long enough to watch an episode of Leverage and drink some tea before going to bed.
I hate migraines.
