If this year's Yuletide stories written by yours truly had a theme, it was "comedy with dark undertones". Started but won't finish: the latest miniseries take Great Expectations, starring Olivia Colman as Miss Havisham. It's one of those productions which in theory sound good - colourblind cast, scriptwriter coming from successful original show (Steven Knight) - and in practice is just a mess. I woke up to very sad news - Ray Stevenson has died, at only 58 years of age, after a sudden illness mid shooting, according to the articles.
