Salzburg this year meant Phèdre with Sunnyi Melles, rain and sunshine mixed, and staying in Leopoldskron, aka Max Reinhardt's old residence. Well, it's the one time a year where it's suitable to wear a dirndl for me, so I might as well. :)

(By contrast, Phaedra & family wore black and white evening wardrobe.)

Ooh, beautiful!

And I envy you seeing Phedre--I think I read it once, long ago, in school (perhaps only in excerpt), but I've never manage to see Racine performed, other than Britannicus.

I had never seen any performed Racine before, either; reading-wise, I'm familiar with Phedre, Britannicus and Andromache, but that's it, and my French isn't good enough to read them in the original, so these were all translations.
