How about New Who?

Same applies as with Old Who - for everyone who loves character X, you have someone who hates character X, etc. However, here's my attempt ( ... )

My massive problem with Christmas Invasion remains that certainly my beloved lefty Seven, and I hope most other Doctors, would not have brought herr down by blatantly appealing to the sexism of the people around her in a way that would reinforce the barriers for all future women in the role.

I thought it was more ageism then sexism. Maybe I missed something, but how was that sexist?

Here the tricky thing is that it's two fandoms, not one. One fandom that's primarily LoM, and one that's primarily AtA, and what is unpopular in one fandom is not in the other. I'll try anyway ( ... )

Absolutley agree with # 2 and 3. I've been reading a lot of A2A fic lately, and a lot of summaries go something like, "Alex must choose between life with Gene and life with Molly." It makes me want to scream.

3)I really wish Alex could end up in the present with Molly, but more and more I don't expect it to happen, simply because that'd be A Very Happy Ending, so to speak.

1) Seasons 4 and 5 are the only ones where I actually like Sark. Partly because he's used only in small doses, which heightens the entertainment value of his appearances to no end. I also don't ship him with Sydney (or anyone else), which is why I've yet to read a Syd/Sark fic ( ... )

1) Heh. I read a fair bit of fic before I got around to actually watching the series, from which one would have deduced that Sark was a torn, troubled, shades-of-grey character and Sloane was a one-note creepy sociopath. Boy did that not pan out ( ... )

:) Ah yes, the fanfic. I remember that just after s5 ended, there was for a while a trend to write Sark/Isabelle.
....
I'm just saying.

Star Trek. Pick and choose from all series, or just do the one you have the strongest opinions about. :)

Babylon 5?

1.) First time around I found Marcus Cole annoying, during rewatching every time later I was okay with him and extended my general B5 fondness to him, but he's still not interesting to me at all, and what grief I as a watcher feel when he bites the dust is on Ivanova's behalf. Also, I definitely don't ship him with her, and a certain short story evoked much face-palming and "oh, JMS" sighs from me.

2.) I like Elizabeth Lochley. Very much so.

3.) Sheridan's character development ended after Z'ha'dum; sometimes I still wonder whether a show where he remained dead, Delenn and Ivanova pick up the slacks and found the Interstellar Alliance, and Delenn/Neroon happened (can't see Delenn/Lennier working out - sorry, Lennier fans, but he's too much in awe of her) wouldn't have been even better.

#1 & #2 - yes, totally!

#3 - Interesting, I'm not sure I ever thought about this before! I've contemplated the 'what if Ivanova stayed in S5?' scenario, but not that one...

Although, if we go back to the original plan, if Sinclair stayed as Commander and then took B4 through time, wouldn't that leave Ivanova as the leader who goes to Z'Ha'Dum?
