In the -giving credit where credit is due- dept, I have to say I was really suprised to come home from school today and find that the AC Adapter for my new lapotron5000 had arrived! I think that is the fastest I have EVER been shipped ANYTHING> I didn't even call in my complaint about not receiving the adapter with my original order til like 4pm EST yesterday. It came via DHL from Ohio. DHL is scoring major points with me, and since DELL was kind of on it with promptly handling the situation, I'll give xfer a few points from their lose column to their win column. I emailed the rep who handled the case a nice thank you.

Next piece of technology to get fixed replaced...the GPS reciever.

Software installation phase has gone well so far. So far. I'm anticipating some troubles went get to the audio portion of installation mountain. I had a bitch of a time getting Ableton and Reason on the last lappy, and who knows where my Cubase(sx) install disc is? It could be anywhere. I hardly ever mess with Ableton or Reason (although I SHOULD), but I make the Handpicked DUB and rightDIRECTION podcasts with Cubase....so at the very least I'd like to get that one up and running. It's about having the OPTION to mess with the music progs if I want to*. I won't feel really settled until this machine has all the gear that my old one did.

*just like how I keep these technic 1200's in the way on my desk...I would be bugged if I suddenly for some reason git the urge to play records and could'nt

gps, fun, computer
