Kanda found it that morning, a small piece of paper tucked in between his chopsticks, a note of sorts. And much to his dismay, Jerry refused to acknowledge his inquiry behind said note, flatly shooting down every single question and glare thrown by the Japanese Exorcist. In the end, after so much argument on his part and just plain brushing off from the chef, he gave up but not without one last incoherent grumble, taking with him both his breakfast and the note.

"That's a girl's handwriting right there." Lavi was peering over his shoulder, rubbing his chin in a rather thoughtful manner.

Kanda turned in his seat, his death glare turned on. There were no words on the note, not even a name. Just a small heart right in the midle, daintily written. He could hardly fathom why it was included in his breakfast, never mind it being a girl's handwriting. How could anyone decipher it as one?

"I agree with Lavi. Do you think Kanda has an admirer?"

Even the bean sprout had turned up at other shoulder, peering just as curiously as the redhead. Both Exorcists looked at each other then nodded in unison, coming to a certain unspoken agreement. Then...

"Nah!" the two chorused, clearly sounding amused. Apparently, the words 'Kanda' and 'admirer' didn't mix well together. One thing that they and the entire Order agreed about.

"That's Lenalee's handwriting though."

The three boys all looked up at the voice, one belonging to Reever Wenham whose attention was quickly drawn away from them and towards another section of the mess hall, then looked down once more at the note in Kanda's hand. The name that came along was the one name they all did not expect. Most especially the one person holding out the paper.

After a moment of silence, it was Allen who broke Kanda's reverie, his horror evident in his exclamation…

"Lenalee?! She’s Kanda’s admirer?"

…Quickly followed by Lavi.

“No way… Lena? Our Lena?”

And as the two boys left the Japanese’s side at once, in search of the Order’s favorite girl, they no longer saw the dazed expression on Kanda, his usually pale face coloring darkly as realization dawned him. Too bad they didn’t. It would have been blackmail-worthy.
