Minnesota! really?

Dec 05, 2009 00:03

I got back from Thanksgiving and just had enough time to plastic wrap my windows before Minnesota decided it was winter. Hey guess what? It's really nice! I kind of... like this teens- and twenties- weather thing, with the little snow flurries.

Did those words really just come out of my virtual mouth.

In other news, I am not going to be doing anything except write papers for the next 16 days. Oh... and go to Ann Arbor for the weekend. Bad idea? or frightening and persuasive motivation to get this stuff written? My criteria for paper quality has fallen drastically from "well-crafted coherent argument" to "semi-grammatical French that takes up space." Thank you, First 40 Pages of paper, for being decent enough that my spirit has not been entirely broken for Second 40 Pages of paper. Which now just need to get filled.

In other news, my spirit had been almost entirely broken until my acupuncturist worked her magic today, and then I had the best half hour of my entire week. I didn't do any work for the rest of the day (there were classes), and I made delicious things with collard greens which are going to be feeding me for the rest of the week (did you know collard greens don't reduce down as much as other greens? I didn't. Now I do!). All of these things mean my spirit has been revitalized enough to make it through the next two weeks. I hope.

Also, anyone know anyone awesome in Memphis or Louisiana? I'm taking a road trip the first two weeks of January. Or at least, that's the tentative plan... If I can buy some Cajun books down there I can pretend it has something to do with my degree! or not. Oh hey, I might be passing through Chicago too. Chicago people, where are you going to be at in the rough range of dates between Jan 2-17?
