Final Fantasy VII, Shadow Hearts 2, SaGa Frontier, Fushigi Yuugi and Suikoden III spoilers! PEOPLE-WHO-DIE-IN-THEM SPOILERS.
There's this forum called ReCom (which probably stands for something, but I'm clueless as to what) that is basically a gathering place for Malaysian students to trade their university/scholarship application experiences, information and tips for interviews. Other parts of the forum also deal with issues related to Malaysia and the world, most of which come in handy to read should your interviewer suddenly decide to discuss Current Issues and you're like me, and only read the comics section of the entertainment hand-out. And of course, there's the Random Babble place.
As an aside, there MUST be something in our food that compels most Malaysians to type worse than three-year olds. Tons of 'da's (the), 'noe's (know), 'rite's (right) and other similar SMS-only lingo litter their posts, and it's literally once in several pages do you find someone willing to spell whole words correctly. (I blame the food because a similar crime is being perpetrated on doctorjob.com, also a Malaysian site, which makes my spelling nazi cry since these are HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES we're talking about. And Malay or Chinese, Muslims or Christians, there is one thing that binds all Malaysians together-- FOOD. And the air we breathe, but it's too polluted to contain any substance capable of butchering our spelling to this degree.
And let's not even get into the USJ Community Message Board. Parents, do not spank your children when they follow suit and replace 'you' for 'u' in your Mother's Day/Father's Day cards.)
Still, there are points being made behind the sad, slow murder of English spelling, so wade through those atrocities I did. All in all, it's a pretty informative place that I started reading through several weeks ago. So I decided to join as a member, even though chances were I'd continue to lurk anyway.
That was three days ago.
Two days ago, the entire forum disappeared. Poof. Kaput. Account suspended. Gone. Hundreds of pages of informative, spelling-butchering threads-- Gone.
...I'm trying not to think it, but damn, it's gotta be the same curse that befalls and ultimately kills most of the characters I love. Aerith. Nicolai. Blue. Tomo. Luc. And now, ReCom joins their ranks.
Squall and Cloud, watch your backs.
