Dad's surgery went pretty well, according to Heidi. It was an all-day saga - the hospital in Pinehurst now has a second outpatient surgery unit, and there was evidently some (minor) confusion as to which one Dad was booked in. The Chicago election is a thing of wicked, strange beauty of a sort. The focus outside Chicago is on the Mayor's race, but I doubt Daley's in trouble. The data conversion and entry project for UB is one huge steaming mess. Someone forgot to talk to the devs for the new site, and their data fields don't map to the data from the old site. So now I'm having to manually go in and re-create a ton of data before getting it entered. Oi ( Read more... )

Last night's menu was Linguine with Scallops in Garlic Butter Besciamella, and it turned out great. The scallops cooked to the point of being a bit brown on the edges, and were so tender - I could just eat a big plate of those, to be honest.
