Oh, Lord - neighbor drama. Our upstairs neighbors are being thrown out by our landlord for reasons unknown. At least we don't know what they are; they were told it was because a sale was imminent and that the owner wanted to live in their flat rather than ours. I think they were expecting us to get tossed out on our ears, too, and I think they just discovered that we're not. We're not keen on our landlush, either, but he seems to think we do an ok job keeping the place together and pay our rent on time, etc. She-neighbor was a bit catty this morning while I was sketching on the deck, and since I don't suffer fools gladly (which
drubear thinks I should have either tattooed on my forehead or permanently emblazoned on my clothing a la Hawthorne), I kinda gave her what-for about it. I wish I had more patience with people, but I don't, and I'm not going to torture myself over it. He-neighbor is usually too stoned to cause trouble.
I think I've finally worked out the website thing. Finally. After four different designs. Weeks of sketching. Umpteen hours sitting in front of Illustrator and Photoshop. Umpteen. Yay frickin' me! I'm in a race to get the website together before the next OL comes out with my ad, and next Wednesday seems to be the date, according to Vedis. I will win my race, with the Gods as my witness...es.
Fascinating documentary on Sundance last night about Gil Rossellini, brother of Isabella and Ingrid. After contracting an incredibly virulent staph infection, he was forced to undergo grueling operations and lost a lot of tissue in his arms and legs, leaving him unable to walk. He documented his experiences in this
film, featuring visits with his famous siblings and careworkers at the Swiss clinic where he spent months recovering. His humor and ease made the recovery look effortless, although I'm sure it wasn't. I loved the interaction, warmth and humor between him and Isabella. You can tell she loves her brother very much. She mentioned his case in the Sundance series Iconoclasts with Dean Kamen, and I'm glad I was able to catch her brother's documentary. I think I'll skip the one with Quentin Tarrantino and Fiona Apple - ugh. I don't think they could've picked a duo for the show I could care less about. Well, maybe Snora Jones and Joss Stone. Or anyone from the cast of Blades of Glory. Oh, then there's Jim Carey, or anyone who's ever appeared on a reality TV show. Ok, yeah, there are a lot more people I find equally useless, it seems. Sorry.
We may have a few extra Wild Onions showing up at Wellspring. J&R will be driving in from a wedding, and there's always a possibility that Anne's going, although she says she'd rather attend Starwood. We're going to discuss at Saturday's Grove meeting. I feel like I have so much to do between now and then.
Ok, back to homework.
