Soo..long time no post. I'm taking a break from my paper (it's for my internship). Bleck. But yeah, I'm writing about the credit and mortgage crisis, which is actually pretty interesting, and it makes me feel really informed. I didn't know much about it before.
Anyway, so yes, my internship is overrr. It was a fun experience, but it's really tiring, and I'm really, really poor. Eheh. On the last day, we all got mock awards. I got Most Enthusiastic on Field Trips. We took a few trips to the Fixed Income Desk, Equity Desk, and the NYSE (New York Stock Exchange, in case anyone is bad at acronyms ^_^). We also took a leisure day on the Shark Boat, which I found really fun, although we all got wet, and the water was kinda nasty. But, I think the real reason I got it was because of a certain
incident at said Fixed Income Desk. It was a bit scary, but I blame it on the heat and the heels. First time, too. I never really thought it would happen to me, since I've always considered myself somewhat hardy.
So these next few days are going to be library filled, but after Friday, I'm freeeeee. And Michelle is coming down from Boston to visit! We might end up going back up to Boston for a day or two (possibly Sat-Mon), but we'll see. And then I'll be in DC on the 20th. Wooo, I can't wait! Not that I don't love my friends, but it's really boring here.
Also, the Wilton Library? Yeah, it sucks. It might have nice new editions and more room for books. But when you charge a dollar for sludge coffee that used to be free? Especially since the old stuff was actually brewed. This new stuff is in those little dinky cups that you put in this little crazy machine. No mess, no hassle? Yeah, well, no taste buds either. Oi vay. I drank it just so I could focus. It was so gross. I put in so much sugar just to mask the bitterness. They should be paying me a dollar to drink that stuff. Srsly. And you might all be going, But Steph, who cares? It's about the books! Yeah, well, they censor a whole lot of stuff here too. The Teen Section is a joke. And most of the other books are still really old.
On another note, who remembers Maria? I think she was Steve's older sister? Picozzi, or something? Dani, you might. I saw her today here! It was kinda awkward. I had to smile at her first, and when she came over, she was like, I barely recognized you! Eheh. She's still really quiet, but really sweet. ^^ I didn't really have much to say to her, though. Ah well. At least she's doing okay. =)
