musings: i'm liable to sink us both
There was this quote on my dash a few days back that is relevant to Tony and Ziva situation. It’s about leaving someone for good. I can’t remember the whole quote words by words, but the half end of it said:
“at this moment, you can’t hook your boat to mine, because I’m liable to sink us both”
I feel like that is always the case with Ziva all this time, not only on her upcoming leaving. Ziva always chooses to leave or handles things on her own. Not because she doesn’t trust. But because she cares and she wants to protect. She’s always thinking that if anyone has to get in trouble, it has to be her. And only her. She will not drag anyone down that road.
That is heartbreaking on its own because the path she chooses is lonely. But what is more heartbreaking is that Tony doesn’t want to be protected by her. He wants to be with her. In good and in bad terms. If he will get in trouble for that, then be it. If they both have to sink, then be it.
