I think this will not nearly be the big deal it's being made out to be, but you never know. This just in from Jeff Masters' blog: "Gustav's storm surge is not likely to breach the New Orleans levees--if they perform as designed." That's a pretty big "if," but still encouraging.

We're in McComb, MS at the moment -- rooting hard for the home team!

Take care! If we didn't have 2 small children who would turn into elemental demons if they had to sit in the sweaty dark without entertainment we would have stayed too. Evacuating sucks! Can't wait to hear from you on the other side.
