Poem: Amazing
Hi ll,
I just wrote that poem, so I hope you'll enjoy:
Amazing
LORD, I love you. You’re amazing!
Far too great to comprehend
Such a jealous fire blazing,
Yearning for every heart to mend.
Your eyes behold us men who struggle
With condemnation, guilt and sin.
There in our little corners we huddle,
Dirty and ashamed within.
You say you forgive us and we know it -
Well, but only in our head!
Yet when the next sin is committed,
Still we feel condemned and bad.
We ask how often can he forgive us?
Will his mercy have no end?
Hard to believe that when we repent
To us he will immediately tend.
He does not forgive us only,
But helps us to overcome.
At his side we’re never lonely.
In his arms we find a home.
With him we’ll resist temptation.
Even if it takes a while.
If with him we stay in relation
We’ll come out with a triumphant smile.
So help us LORD to fight our battles!
Jesus, teach us how to fight!
To the floor our chains will rattle!
Enemies will be beaten to flight.
Route us, ground us in you, Jesus!
Let us be unshakable!!
Yes, you are the one who frees us!
With you we’re unbreakable!
Yet if we sin, which often happens,
Help us run LORD, to you quick!
Let us then pick up our weapons,
And give the enemy a kick!!!
Let’s remember: without you we’re nothing!
Yes, we are exposed and weak!
Yet you LORD, you are so loving,
And fight the battle of the meek.
