How has this become my life?

Wow.  I haven't posted in a year and four months (someone pointed this out to me...I didn't even realize it had been so long!), but you would think it was four years based upon how drastic of a turn my life has taken.  Despite me trying over and over to keep this weight off...I have done nothing but gain.  I am now closer to 700 pounds.  What???  ( Read more... )

Wow, I could have written this. I weigh 431 and I'm having the same problems - I can't even stand long enough to take a shower without a break. Generally, I take a bath or, if I have to shower, I'll sit on the side of the tub. Walking next door completely takes it out of me. Hell, just across the house, even. :( And I'm starting to get the swelling in my ankles/feet if my feet are down too long. Then I have to get into the bed to get it to go down. Mentally, I just want to stay in the bed. Physically I generally end up doing it because it's simply more comfortable.

I lost about 31 pounds this year and I've put back on 3, currently. And I just can't seem to get motivated to lose more even though I WANT to.

I know this took a lot of courage for you to write. I hope that you will continue to write and to get support. I would be happy to help support you in any way that I can. We can friend up on Facebook or text if you'd like.

Someone above posted about cutting out wheat. I have a friend that has a lot of swelling in her legs/ankles/feet and I did a little research for her not long ago because her doctors can't figure out how to get it down and I read a lot about how cutting wheat/going gluten free has helped people. My friend hasn't tried this so I have no idea if it would work. I lost a lot of my weight cutting out wheat but it's hard to keep up. But it might be worth it to try (if you haven't already) to see if it can alleviate the painful swelling.

Don't lose hope! You can do this! *hugs*

thank you sweetie. i'm so sorry that you are going through the same things as well. oh what i would give to be able to take a bath, i know it would be so much better for me. we have a huge soaking tub, but i'm still too big for it. because of my weight, i'm afraid to sit on the side, so i shower as quickly as possible. if i had the money i would redo my bathroom in my bedroom (it has a shower that i don't even fit in!) and make it with a bench for me to sit, as that would be a huge help as well. i really hate not being able to shower completely.

congrats on the weight loss, even if you've put a little back on. i hear you...i want this so badly, but i guess maybe not badly enough since nothing i do ever seems to work/stick. i hope i can turn that around.

here's to both of us getting where we want to be!!!
