This Probably Won't Be Very Long

You may already be aware that I had my left eye's  cataract surgery a little more than a month ago. The right eye received it's fair share of surgery-attention this last week. Lefty has been healing fairly well, as I understand the expectations. Rightie has already been a whiney brat, with sharp pain at the outside edge of the eyeball with any bright light -- basically anything brighter than "dim". And, as luck would have it, the day of surgery was a gloriusly sunny and warm day. I really hated needing to hide in the house with closed curtains all afternoon. The next day's check-up back at the clinic confirmed that the right eye had developed some infection, which I already had DROPS for. I'd been using all 3 prescribed Drops (4 times a day or only 2 times a day now for the first eye surgered), but now have developed a "Keep Track and DON'T FORGET TO DO ANY OF THE DROPS" tracking system. Very complex and technical, but since I know you are all smart and curious, I'll reveal that it includes a pad of paper and a pen. Any further details might be crossing the lines of What You Need To Know. So . . . I'll leave it at that; and I trust you'll understand.

This weekend, Jeff has both dogs until Monday afternoon/evening. The house is so very quiet and I don't even have to be all that careful when walking around the house. Of course, the very quiet house is a bit lonely to stay in. Early this morning, I took a mug of hot coffee and walked to the south end of the alley to try to catch a look at the almost-still-Full Moon. She was so lovely (despite the blurring and doubling of my current eyesight) that my feet kept walking. I kept wandering around a few blocks, following gaps holding that silver-pixie-Moon, until I finally turned away to head for the north end of the alley. Finally, I could bring myself to come back inside my house.

I need to write a few notes to family and get them ready for the post office. I must say that typing (not to mention doing my data entry job) is particularly challenging when everything on the screen tends to blur &/or warp. I couldn't manage without my trusty magnifying glass. Not complaining--I am very grateful that my surgeries will heal and I will be able to see better again--just letting a little frustration whisper away.

May all of you enjoy excellent health and continue to do so for years to come! I will learn to fully appreciate the magic that medical care can provide. And I will ENJOY that, as well. Be well and revel in every Happiness you experience.

health, healing, moon
