Just a short post to praise the early morning sky this morning ...
The clear, double-deep-blue sky held more than it's usual count of stars at 5:00 this morning. Or, at least, there seemed to be more. Clear air and the clear sky combined for a lovely, neck-creaking view.
The crescent moon was way over in the east-northeast, playing peek-a-boo with me through the branches of my neighbor's old maple tree. Down in the east-southeast, Orion had risen well above the horizon and clear of my ever-annoying horizon clutter. His faithful Sirius--the Dog Star--was not yet visible. Soon, though. The center of the sky dome had a delightfully plentiful scattering of stars that had me throwing my head back, leaning against the house for balance, and enjoying.
Well worth taking some time to pause and just admire nature's peaceful light show.
