We met with friends at a buffet restaurant today. Intended on brunch, but they'd switched to lunch by the time we arrived. Should have checked for the relevant hours. A couple of those who'd been planning to attend didn't make it, but five of us ate, visited, and laughed away over two hours. We discussed dogs, writing, missing friends, books, the restaurant, weather, spring-anticipation, and I don't remember what else. Had a nice time.
Really enjoyed the sunshine, although we still had rather cool temps. Nothing to write home to North Dakota and complain about. Friday I shoveled the front sidewalk and steps. About 6 1/2 inches of fairly heavy snow needed to be moved up onto piles that are already pretty high. That's okay: good exercise and all that; need the moisture to battle "drought conditions"; it's winter and we live in the north country so what do you expect?; and so on. I'm just hoping I can keep an even keel/attitude through February, March, and maybe into April. Sigh. This IS the north country and the climate IS going a bit ... schizophrenic. Or would manic/depressive be a better outdated term?
Lately I've been trying to get through several years of Dr. Who. Just trying to catch up on the newer version that started in 2005(?) or thereabouts. Later I'll try getting the older series. Right now I'm in the early part of Season 4 of what I believe are 7 available Seasons. This features the 10th Doctor. I've been having a lot of fun. Unfortunately, MyJeff doesn't care for the Dr. Who program, so I've no one to share watching it or discussing it. I'm hoping he'll start to wonder about it, if I keep watching when he's around and can overhear.
