I mentioned before that I was really looking forward to last weekend. And I had a lot of fun.
My lunch date Saturday with a nice leather bear was very pleasant. This was the first time I'd met him in person after a long email correspondance and it did not disappoint at all. He is very sexy, very intelligent and we had a great conversation over good food at the Gordon Birsch brewery and restaurant in Pasadena. The conversation ranged from fetish topics - where he had me squirming in my chair thinking about how much fun acting out some of the things we were talking about would be - his current career change - why he wants to give up practicing law and move on to being a pastry chef - to relationships and how we see ourselves fitting into the leather community. He's pretty busy with culinary school, his law practice, and travels so it might be a while before we have the opportunity to meet in person again, but I am very much looking forward to it.
The football game was nice too. Since the kickoff was at 4 p.m. and I have seats on the shady west side of the Rose Bowl, I didn't have to suffer in the sun. This is good for me since I am mostly of Irish descent and thus the sun is the natural enemy of my people. My UCLA Bruins dominated on the scoreboard, jumping out to a 27-3 lead in route to a 33-10 victory. Being a fan gives you an investment in the outcome - I like the games much less when we lose - so a good solid win, our first this season, feels nice. On the downside, it seemed like the team was having a hard time sustaining drives on offense, and they gave up a lot of yardage and time of possession, so it was hard to go away from the game feeling confident about the rest of the schedule this year which will be tougher.
Saturday night, I got the chance to act on my piggy boy side when I met
thedaveytrain and his boyfriend out at Cuffs. None of the three of us really got into the atmosphere there and Dave's boyfriend wanted to go out dancing so we only spent about an hour together but it seems like there may be some fun in our future.
Sunday's motorcycle ride and movie was fun though also a bit disappointing in execution. Breakfast was good and the movie we saw together "The Motorcycle Diaries" was very good, but the ride itself didn't turn out as well as we hoped. It was difficult keeping a group of 11 of us together on the very urban route and it didn't help that I was in the lead for my very first time. We ended up being split up several times and having to forgo part of the trip when we started running out of daylight.
All in all the weekend rocked and gave me a good burst of energy heading into this week.
