A fast-down and dirty history overview

part 1----Type your cut contents here.Almost every culture in the would can, trace back in their past and, find a period in which the majority of the populace where kept in subjugation.  Superior power was held by Kings, Sheiks, Emperors, Khans and various Potentates with a few layers of somewhat less superior hanger-ons and enforcers of sorts.  The laws were made, the decrees decreed, for the masses, the  peasants, servants, enslaved, untouchables.  It always has been the favored 'elite' (while considering themselves above the laws) that make the laws and decrees for the masses.  Whether by right of birth or through superior cunning and might, the few ruled over the many.
In all of these societies there were common factors, some ruled some served.  To put it in the simplest terms Masters and Slaves.  Slaves, this is what they were, they may have had various levels of responsibility and perhaps favors but not a choice.
For hundreds and hundreds of years this is what life was.  In the ruling class there was one head and many sub-heads.  In the servants class there were also a few layers, those who served in the residents of the well off( with possible access to some perks) and those who ran the trades (necessary to the royals) coming off a bit better than the more numerous laborers and toilers. There is one other strata of  societies,  the warrior class, the importance of which varied according to time and aggressive conditions.  The privileged classes would on occasion grant favors and improved status to individuals who performed  a special service to them.(where the terms, curry favor, & status climber, came from)
This has been with us from the beginning of greed and shall be with us  till greed dies completely from the earth.
This remained  a fairly consistent model until a 'new land'  was settled. Separated  from the Rulers of the Old Worlds by oceans and time the old system broke down.  The substitute rulers who tried to keep the same standards, in a land far from the true might of their homelands, found it much tougher holding  power over the people.Toughened by a a physically  harder, but more personally rewarding  style of life, far from the so called care   of the 'benevolent'? tyrants. The masses for the first time in hundreds of years could stand up and take care of themselves.
Our forefathers rich and poor took a chance on themselves and stood up to the tyranny of the past and became responsible. With the actions of the founding fathers of this country, for the first time in hundreds of years, people had a say in their life and the country they lived in.
People were energized, the harder they worked the more they had for themselves. A very unusual situation. They formed a new government, and having experienced a history of not having a say in their private lives, they severely limited the extent of the rule of the new government.
A government of the people,  for the people and by the people.!!!

Unfortunately a small portion of this new society held onto the idea  that some could and should live off the works of others, that they still had the right to enslave a portion of society. The majority of the 'people' however disagreed with this and supported the enslaved minority and indeed fought for the inclusion of them as citizens.
