So, I’m 22 today. I never feel any older on my birthday, but when it comes around I’m always left thinking about how time seems to be going faster, the older I get. I’m sure that’s true for everyone... Years ago when I heard people say “Life is short,” I just laughed. Now I think I know what it means. Yeah, you might live for many years - but they go by pretty quickly! And you can lose and gain things in the blink of an eye.

I had a great weekend. Went out on Halloween night. Saw some good costumes and danced my feet off. Went to an Italian restaurant on Saturday, which was lovely, and followed that with a few drinks. Then had a quiet day in with Ste on Sunday, just watching TV and listening to music. Monday was much the same. I received birthday cards from my family this morning and talked to my mother on the phone. I’ve also just had a nice indulgent Lush bath. Ste will be home from work soon and he wants to take me out for dinner again tonight. Hmm. The cooker just got replaced today, but what the hell. We don’t go out for meals that often, so I’m up for it.

October 31st
Halloween. That’s Ste’s sister Andrea with the horns, and the guy who’s dressed like he belongs in The Crow is his brother Peter. I think my hair looks dry and all over the place, but the other day a woman in the pub randomly told me that I have lovely hair. So maybe it’s alright!

November 1st
There’s this homeless guy we always run into, who’s a poet. Instead of begging for money, he prefers to earn it by writing poems for people, on a topic of their choice. He’s done one for me before. Ste usually just gives him the money for nothing, though. Anyway. On this day he came up to us in the pub (it sounds like I’m always in bars) and said he had something special. It’s a DVD of him reciting his poetry. He included a description on the back of a postcard. That should say “Poetry, the language of music”

November 2nd
My living room. Blankets for curtains. I refuse to show the rest of the room because it’s horrible. I dream of having a nice house one day!

November 3rd
Flowers on my street.
