And it was the most glorious night of news I've experienced for a while.
Downtown NoHo was in a joyous uproar. Aimee and I made a McDonalds run to celebrate, and we blared M.I.A. and honked at every intersection, and I hung out the passenger window screaming at people who screamed back. We shouted into the windows of other cars at stoplights, and everyone screamed and laughed and cried.
When McCain conceded, I cried.
When Obama accepted, I cried.
When I saw Michelle Obama's God-awful dress, I also cried. Not out of joy.
Last night was pretty much a continuous political orgasm. Or multiple political orgasms. Sucks about Douglas in Vermont, but eh...(yay Peter Welch?) Also sucks about Prop 8...I didn't see that getting through AT ALL, but I guess it shows that we still have work to do. However, pot was decriminalized in Massachusetts, though that doesn't really affect me much.
But the bottom line is...House. Senate. Oval Office. And all I see is blue.
I'm so happy. Finally. Finally something is going right en este puta país. Maybe Obama will give me a job.
Also, Aimee got me a gourd for my maté, and it's cute and gourd-y and the maté tastes perfect in it. :]
Oh happy days.
