It's a sad day when your mom calls to cancel Christmas! Our normal Christmas Eve family gathering has been postponed until Friday, and Christmas day is postponed to New Years

My family gathering for today got canceled too...which is something of a mixed bag as it having it requires a 120 miles (each way) of driving for me. So if it was on I'd likely be at the border now.

I can live with a relaxing day.

Ours just got cancelled too (well majorly scaled back - we still have one guest coming)

The street in front of our house has 6-8' ruts where the snow has melted or been worn away. I tried it before throwing in the towel. It was very interesting. Once in the rut the car would follow it like a slot car, with virtually no control except acceleration, and sometimes braking. I suppose you could get used to it, but I found it very unnerving especially with a fair number of cars parked more or less in the street.. After 4 rubber-burning tries to get up our driveway, I decided I didn't want to do this after dark, and after imbibing at dinner. So we stayed at home and had either leftover moussaka or spaghetti
