Poetry Rec: Half-Hanged Mary

Hope you all are having a lovely weekend! I've had a deliciously lazy Saturday -- really could have taken a few minutes to do laundry or something useful, but oh well.

For anyone on my flist who's into poetry (or even for those who aren't), I'd like to humbly point you toward a pretty amazing poem that was posted this week on Read more... )

Hey there! Yeah, I heard about JD Salinger -- very sad, but he lived a long life. I'm glad you ended up enjoying Catcher!

I don't think I've read Franny and Zooey, but I'm not sure. I have read a few other things of Salinger's (a few short stories, I think?) but none of them ever stuck with me the way Catcher did.

Urgh, that sucks about your computer. We are moving in a couple of weeks and I'm afraid something will go wrong with our internet installation and we'll be web-less for a few days -- truly a fate worse than death. :-P Hope your issues get resolved soon.

Oops, I'm sorry you couldn't find those April posts! I f-locked nearly all poetry on this LJ a while back after a real life acquaintance found my journal via a poetry search on Google. If you were signed in you'd be able to see the goodies. :-)

Isn't Half-Hanged Mary fantastic? I have posted several others of her poems on this LJ over the years...let me find them...
