DH Covers!
Is it just me, or is the U.K. cover just kind of...ugly?
I mean, Harry looks about 40 years old to me, and I find all the shiny things in the foreground kind of jarring and too cartoonish somehow. I don't know. It does spark the question as to whether this scene will actually happen in the book or is more a sort of metaphorical portrayal of the trio going up against all the horcruxes. *puzzles*
On the other hand, I love the U.S. cover!
Voldie's long, creepy fingers give me a delightful thrill, and this Harry is much closer to the vision I have of him in my head. I also really like the composition of the art -- the colors, the curving lines, the framing effect of the curtains. (Could the curtains have anything to do with the Veil That Ate Sirius? Probably just wishful thinking on my part...)
Questions: Where are their wands? What are they reacting to beyond the page? Who are the silhouettes in the background? What's up with the Colosseum thingie? How will I wait until July???
I go back and forth between not wanting the series to end and wanting really badly to know what's going to happen -- but after seeing these, I'm DYING to read the book! *bounces impatiently*
