It's a new year! K/S is my new pairing.

...

Or not. ;-) I've always been more open-minded when it comes to art -- takes less time than reading a fic long enough to sell me on K/S.

OT, but have you seen season 1 of Sherlock yet? The new episode is so absolutely brilliant I'd hate for you to miss out on.

Let's face it, you need a new fandom ;-)

No, I downloaded the first episode at some point (I think on a link from you?) and then totally forgot about it. How many eps are there, and how long?

Let's face it, you need a new fandom ;-)

*laughs in slightly hysterical fashion*

Each season has 3 eps, each 1,5 hour long. Episode 1 of season 2 just aired, and it's the best one yet imo. Perhaps you can watch it here, without downloading:

Thanks for the link! Will bookmark. I make no promises, as I still have November big bangs and December fest fics in my pile, plus I'm trying to finish marathoning the last season of White Collar before new eps start up again in two weeks. *headdesk* But if I make any progress with any of that, then we'll see. ;-)

Just curious...there are two recent Sherlock Holmes movies too, right? I see lots of Sherlock activity on my flist, but I'm never sure which one people are responding to (because I don't really pay that much attention.) Are the series and the movies two separate fandoms, or do most people play in both sandboxes, or...?

The fandoms are seperate, from what I've seen - the universes and the characterizations are just so different, the BBC's Sherlock being a modern version, with laptops and all, and the movies staying within the period and being over the top. I have only seen the first one of the feature movies, but wasn't sold on RDJ's version of Holmes, while the version by Benedict Cumberbatch was an instant hit with me.

It's just so, so good. Slashy and clever and fresh - trailer

Oh, interesting, didn't realize the BBC one was modern.

Thanks for the rec. I will try not to be a big loser and forget about this for another six months. :-P

Yes, the BBC Sherlock is very modern, has his website and all, but at the same time very much Sherlock-y. It's a truly brilliant adaptation, and now the entire fandom is in a haze of happy with how good the last ep was.

You know that feeling where you're desperate for a friend not to miss out on something brilliant? Well I am not experiencing that feeling, I am that feeling ;)

Tell you what -- RL permitting, I promise I will give the first ep a shot by the end of the month. :-) Don't let me forget!
