Recs! (HP, ST, WC)
How is the weekend over? Ugh. Haven't done recs in a while, so here, have a few...

Our Cracking Bones Make Noise by Anonymous (Teddy/James, NC-17, minor character death, grieving)
I read this yesterday and completely fell in love with it. James is such a painfully real character, a teenage boy responding to his grief and guilt over the death of his sister by lashing out at everyone he loves. At their wits' end, his parents end him for the summer to the dragon reserve where Charlie and Teddy work. This fic has probably the best cameo by a dragon that I've ever seen -- I loved the dragon scenes more than the love/porn scenes, and for me that's saying something. ;-) But seriously, it's a beautiful, believable fic. I can't help but think the author must be familiar with troubled teenage boys -- it rings so true to me.

Where have you been? by epithalamium002 (Remus, G)
Sweet portrait of Remus coming in out of the rain. There's something inexplicably Remus about him; he's adorable.

Weapon of Choice by igrockspock (Sulu, PG)
This wonderfully layered gen piece was written for my prompt of "Sulu's first love." It starts with a young Hikaru finding a sword in his attic and shows how that determined little boy becomes the cool-headed, disciplined character we meet in canon. There are some nice moments of humor here too.
Operation Camping and Sex: A Scheme by oliveoyl (Kirk/McCoy/Gaila, R)
This is warm and quirky and hilarious and I adored it. Jim and Gaila decide Bones needs to be cheered up, so they arrange a camping trip for a bunch of their friends. Fire-making and ghost-story-telling and threesome sex ensue. I love the way the author writes the friendships here, and Chekov's little cameo cracks me up.

Mmm. Shirtless Jim, cuddling/spooning, implied angst and hurt/comfort...yes, these are good things. :-)

OMG, I laughed and laughed when I saw this. The scenario is just the kind of scrape these three characters would get themselves into on some strange planet or another, and their reactions are perfectly in character. Poor Bones. :-P

Carry You Around by china_shop (Neal/Kate, PG-ish?)
I've probably watched this vid about five times now. The song is awesome (Ani! ♥), and the lyrics fit Neal and Kate's story so well, especially the way china_shop layers the images and clips from the show. I'm failing to describe it well, so just check it out -- it's a gorgeous vid.
