He felt the cold air swept him, his locks flying in the wind. His chest heaving up and down. Tears ran down puffy eyelids and plump cheeks. Waves and waves of emotion swept over him, threatening him to actually sob and let a voice out in the silence of the night. His shoulder trembled again, not because of the wind, but more because of the boiling magma in his heart, squeezing all his power to hold back a scream.

The east started to color, as the moon said goodbye to him and returned to the other side of the world, the sun gently comes in and seeps his warming rays to the denizens of earth, including him. He closed his eyes, “Here goes another day.” He covered his face with his hand, closing every other thing coming into his periphery. And when he opened his hand, he smiled. No trail of tears, no puffed eyelids.

He screamed “Good morning!” to the sun, and skipped inside the apartment, waiting for breakfast.

Thus, Kim Junsu start another day masked in happiness and smiles.

Yoochun can only watch while his best friend is being interviewed. He had always took the time to watch his friend’s actions, moves, gestures, movements, everything. Like some people goes cloud-watching, he goes Junsu-watching, making notes of every movement and frictions, analyzing every bat and every crease, he know he looks like a stalker but he doesn’t care anyway.

Junsu nodded and turned his gaze to his left, through the glass wall separating them and gazes back at Yoochun. He smiled and waved, and like any best friend would Yoochun gave him back a smirk. His smile still lingers, but it disappears quickly as he saw a figure coming over to Yoochun.

Changmin. He breathed the word in his mind over and over again. It wasn’t as if he hated the guy, he was his roommate and the best one he ever had. But that was exactly the problem, he was too perfect. Not to mention he was also close to Yoochun, maybe not as close as him but a close friend is a close friend. Pangs of jealousy bites into him, but he quickly turned his face back to the interviewer, and smiled again.

An unexpected rain drizzled down the afternoon. As with any rainy day, Junsu was stuck inside, pouting at his misfortune. He stomped to the living room, turning on the gaming console only to realize how he had finished every game and even the ones where he had to go to Gamefaqs.com for help. He turned it off again in anger.

“Quit stomping.”

Junsu threw a nasty glare at Changmin.

“Make me.”

He ignored Changmin, and went to the balcony stompingly.

It’s raining, he knew the fact. He also knew he would get wet. He also knew what he was doing is stupid. But he needed timeout, so he went to the corner of the open-aired space, and stared at the city under the rain, his clothes getting soaked through and through.

He wondered about his feelings, why he’s so obsessed with Yoochun and deadly jealous of Changmin.

He wondered about his singing, why his pitch had been a little off lately.

He wondered about his dancing, his feet was getting more and more stable lately.

He wondered about the sudden warmth he get, and then he realized Yoochun had hugged him from behind.

He tried to shuffle, but he can’t.

He knew the rain cloaks tears, but with the space between them, it’s going to be hard to hold back.

He knew Yoochun knew he cries.

He just doesn’t wanted to be seen.

But then all of a sudden, Yoochun kissed his cheek, saying “It’s okay.” On his ear and held him close. He blew.

And as the sun goes down behind the clouds of rain, Junsu’s mask of day wear off. Yoochun was there to see all the misery behind it, but he wasn’t afraid. Because he and Yoochun were best friends. Totally best friends. Supposedly more.

After the rain let up, they watched the stars, still cringing from the wet clothes they wore and the cold gust that sometime blew. They knew getting flu while working as a singer is not exactly a good idea, but they just lay on the floor, holding hands, watching the blinking dots on the sky until slumber took them away.
