1. You have the puzzle box, say, for instance, this one:


2. The letters correspond to the columns above them, but they're scrambled. But they would go in like this:


3. It's easier to get the columns with only one letter first, and then move on to smaller words. If it's only two letters, and only one of the letter combinations makes sense, odds are it's it. So for this, the e and a were obvious, and "of" was the only word that made sense in the puzzle.


4. Eventually, it'll come together and you'll figure out the phrase!
