Washington DC is my favorite city in the world (and I've seen quite a few). When I landed yesterday, I got that giddy feeling in the pit of my stomach...I haven't felt that in a really long time! I wish I knew what was so special about this place that keeps drawing me back.
In regards to architecture, I couldn't sleep last night, so I departed the Mayflower around 11 pm to walk around. I came across a building that totally sums up my tastes. I couldn't determine the function of the building, but it's at 1625 I (Eye) St. NW. Holy cow it's the perfect building! I just stood and stared, admiring the light fixtures, profile features, etc.
