Adventure-time!
I spent all day yesterday and most of last night in the company of my best friend, and it was a wonderful day.
It was a day of hugs, squeeing, flailing, ficcing, and catching up on two months of lost time. We had lunch with Bill Nye the Science Guy and Ed Begley, somehow managed not to kill her insufferable sister, ate lots of junk food, fangirled like crazy, had a tasty dinner, got buzzed on Mai Tais, and had an amazing time. The day was far from perfect, thanks to forces and things beyond our control, but it didn't need to be. It was good enough to just spend time with her again.
Her sister lost her phone, sparking a chain of insane driving around all over the place and searching and trying to find stores and whatnot at 3 am. At one point, we were sitting in a Wal-mart parking lot while her dad bought a new phone, entertaining each other by reading fics in a range of silly voices (porn is never the same again when the dialogue is read in Monty Python French Castle Scene accents), and I had one of those "these are the silly, lovely, moments I live for" realizations. I've had so many of those with her, and it meant so much to me to be able to make more memories, have more fun, and be in the company of one of the most important people in my world.
I miss her so much already.
