The Feinburg Theatre was filled with an oppressing silence, the sort of silence that only encompassed empty theatres. It wasn’t so much the stillness that bothered as the knowing that this was a place that needed to be filled with murmurs and grandiose gestures and fanciful lighting. The sandy ambiance seemed dulled by the working lights, the plush seats empty of patrons, the majestic violet curtains closed against any and all performances.
