"Okay Rainbow, you can do this. It's all about the timing," a certain pegasus pony muttered to herself as she pawed at the ground. Rainbow Dash had finished her weather duties for the day and was now setting some time aside for working on new tricks. This one was causing her some difficulty as she tried to pull out of the 4 loop-de-loops by pulling a triple axel in the air. What she wanted to do was get the axel fast enough that she produced her usual rainbow tornado, but so many spins were starting to rattle her brain. Dash took off at a run again, spreading her wings before launching herself into the air. She was in the middle of the second loop-de-loop when her head started throbbing. That was weird, usually she didn't start getting dizzy until the axels. Rainbow continued going but as she reached the end of the forth the world shifted around her and she closed her eyes tightly as everything shifted.
A split second later, or so it seemed, Dash snapped her eyes open and found herself spiraling out of control over a grey landscape. "AAAHHHHHHH!" she screamed trying to apply the brakes (as it were) but it was too late because suddenly there was a loud DONK as she smacked into a metallic surface before flopping to the ground. She came to a few seconds later, shaking out her mane and rubbing her head, "Owwww. Who put a giant mirror bean in the middle of town." At first what she said didn't register and the pony shook her head again and looked up, eyes going wide, "Wait--huh? What the---what is THAT thing!"
Rainbow Dash flapped her wings again and hovered in front of the bean. It showed her her reflection but what was more disturbing was the reflection behind her. Rainbow Dash peered closely at the large rectangles reflected in it before turning around in the air and getting a look at the real things. Her ears flattened against her head as her mouth dropped open, "Woah."
After a few minutes of stunned silence (which, let's face it, for Dash was awhile) Rainbow Dash started to process a few things, "Well, this sure as horse feathers isn't Ponyville." Her hoof came up to tap at her chin as she continued to hover in mid-air, "Did I crash a little too hard this time? Maybe I'm seeing things." She rubbed at her head with her hoof but she couldn't FEEL any bumps or anything under the mane. "I got it! Maybe I'm dreaming! Yeah, this is just some crazy dream and my head is all scrambled from doing too many loops," Rainbow Dash rolled her eyes in circles as if to demonstrate the scrambledness of her brain. "Heh, no big deal then. I'll just chill in this weird place for a little bit and then wake up," Dash chimed to herself, nodding in satisfaction.
That decided Dash turned back to the strange metallic structure looming before her, "I've gotta say though. This is one of the lamest dreams I've ever had. I'm not even a Wonderbolt in this dream and the skies all grey! Not cool at all."
