[Thomas approaches Chicago Harbour at an easy lope. He hadn't planned on doing more than offering the Water Beetle, but he'd forgotten about the supplies he'd acquired and stashed in the boat and the last thing he needed was for whoever had volunteered for this mission to wonder why there was a shotgun and a whole lot of ammunition aboard. A black duffel bag is slung over his shoulder, and he makes the leap onto deck with the ease of practice.]

[Franky still doesn't really like getting on some wimpy little lake boat, but he's not gonna pass up a chance to see what's happening out over the water. He had his carpentry tools on hand in case something went wrong--and it probably would.

His jump onto the boat might as well be as casual as if he'd just kept walking, and he starts giving the place a good look over.]

Hnn. It'll do, I guess.

Yue walked up to the boat with her broom held to her back with a strap, and a juice box in her left hand. She was dressed like any ordinary girl... save of course her hair, which did set her apart from the crowd. She walked up to the designated meeting point and looked at the others here. Of course she was ready for Starr, it was her idea, but she didn't keep a very good tally on the who else would be joining. She lightly hopped from the dock to the deck without any sign of effort, landing with nearly no weight ( ... )

[Elaine had been on the fence about going on this little excursion but after awhile realized that it was simply an extension of her own trips around the city. While there was clearly a northern, southern, and western boundary, checking if there even was an eastern boundary was a good idea.

She approaches the boat, pausing just for a moment as she catches sight of the others who had volunteers to come.]

[Music changes to indicate people are coming. Starr slips out from the cabin with a map tucked under her arm to see who it is. Luckily she hadn't found Thomas "supplies" yet.

Hey guys! Thanks for coming. It'd be difficult to do this by myself.

[Smiles]

I see some of you already know each other. We'll wait to see if anyone else is coming a little longer before casting off.

[At the sudden influx of people, Thomas mentally curses but grins at Starr and Yue, the only two who had acknowledged something other than the boat.] Wouldn't say that, gorgeous, boat handles just fine with one. Might not be as fun without company though. [he glances over at Yue] And it's nice to see you too, sweetheart.

[a double take at Franky, who somehow looks bigger when on the Water Beetle.] Good thing you and the girl average out to two normal sized people, Pants.

[Elaine just gets smirked at]

[The pretty boy's the only one Franky recognizes, aside from the chick who asked them all to be there. He strikes a pose at the snide comment, likely entirely missing the point.] What can I say, 's hard to measure up to what I got!

[Still posing, he nods at the blonde chick.] We don't gotta do much more waitin', do we?

Yue glanced up at Thomas, studying him for a few moments. She wasn't exactly... thrilled about any of the passengers on this trip. She didn't know much about the one plotting this expedition, she wasn't sure if the handsome one was human, she was sure the pantless wonder wasn't, and the woman from that fight was a bit reckless.

At least the mercenary wasn't here, she'd be worried about the safety of the boat. Of course, "Is this your vehicle? If it is I'd be worried about it exploding." There was a slight smirk as she asked this to Thomas, he seemed to have an attachment to the last vehicle he lost. He seemed to recognize her from the fight, that didn't bother her at all, made this easier.

She moved to the other magically talented person here and reached out, testing to see how rested the other was. Yue wanted to say she was at full power, but that would be less than honest. She turned back to the hostess for this adventure, "How many others are you expecting?"

"Hello? Going somewhere?"

Given how little activity there was in the harbour, it wasn't hard to notice the activity. Standing on the dock, the Doctor regarded the boat looking like he was here quite by accident. Of course, that might not have been the case at all. He might have seen Starr's post and might have been here because of it, but if that was actually the case he wasn't giving any clues.

The Doctor wasn't alone, his red haired companion, Donna, was there in tow.

((ooc: Y-yeah... bailing outta the mod plot boat for smaller boat. There were too many cooks. |D Shannon will hop in with Donna when she can brain.))

[If one didn't count Thomas, it looked like a good group of people to go sailing with. She jumps onto the still docked boat with ease, remembering the last time she had been on this boat a few months back.] No missing practitioners this time?

[After the fight with the Reds, she had carefully rebuilt the same walls that had caused Wardens to consider her not a threat so when Yue went testing her skills, she wouldn't have found anything to be impressed about it. She heads forward on the Water Beetle and gives Starr a faint smile] Hopefully, we'll find out something useful out there.

[J didn't usually make a habit of being late for these sorts of things. Starr had left before he could, and he'd been pretty sure that Derek was going to come, but the redheaded Agent was nowhere in eye- or earshot and he couldn't wait any longer. At least he had good reason for being late, though it looked like they'd gotten quite a crowd by the time he got there. He grinned and headed on deck]

First mate, reportin' for duty.

[Smirking, Starr brushes her hair over her shoulder, giving Thomas a 'look'] Maybe not. But solo isn't my style, in this place doubly so. [She had no idea what was out there. She shook her head at Franky's question though] We're not taking on too big a crew. I think this would be better with a smaller number of people. A few more wouldn't hurt though I suppose.

[Starr looks warily towards the docks, Derick had said he was coming and she had expected the other Agent to arrive before anyone else. So far he was a no show which wasn't like him. Instead she was greeted by a man with a strange tune...old and alien. She leaned against the railing, looking at him with a smirk]

Just a little cruise. Care to join the good ship lollipop?

[It wasn't the ships name but she couldn't resist the song reference. She just hope it didn't irritate Thomas. Starr looked past the man with the funny tune to a more familiar beat and her smile broadened. She'd feel much better nowJ! Good. I was starting to think I'd have to appoint someone ( ... )

[Sneering, Franky strikes another pose as the little kid makes a comment] Oi, don't worry, that's what I'm here for. Building boats and explosions are what I'm best at, kiddo!

[He pumps a fist in the air as the blonde lady decides that they've got plenty of people already.] Awright! Let's cast this sucker out!

[Pauses, before looking at Thomas] Oi Scrawny, I been meaning to ask. How's this thing run, anyway? [No sail, no paddles, and he doesn't think people have dials around here. Maybe he should have looked into that earlier.]

[His laugh at Franky's posturing means Thomas only manages a nod of greeting at the oh-so-British man that walked up with the redhead. He stifles the laugh at Elaine's words, however] Day's young, Miss Mallory. Sure you want to be onboard?

[The others seemed to have the casting off procedure well in hand, so all Thomas does is twitches at the mention of explosions and gives Franky a Look, more for the suggestion than the nickname] Runs on a gas engine, like the cars. And let's not explode my boat, Pants. I like the tub.

Yue turned to greet the latest trio of newcomers. She knew one of them, so Donna got the direction of the bow, although Yue's intent was to greet all three.

Which left the cyborg and his comment, "... we don't have much in the way of spare parts to fix it." Then came his comment not knowing how the ship's propulsion worked... "Your ability to inspire confidence is astounding." Her every word dripped with sarcasm. So a cyborg that didn't understand a gas engine, a monster that might desire to feed, and... okay she was out of ways this could go absolutely wrong from the dock.

That just left the ways it could go wrong in the ocean. City full of monsters, so the seas would certainly be safe. ...At least two of them she knew could fight, and the big guy could at least mentally scar them into submission with his posing. This will be a long day...

[Elaine leans against the railing near the bow of the ship, keeping an eye on the waters of Lake Michigan. Nothing out there except seagulls and gray waters - she peers out towards the east but sees no apparent fog barrier like which surrounded the rest of the city.]
